Merit Seats

These are the seats allotted by the Technical Education Department of Kerala to the polytechnics of the state. Around 50% of the seats allotted are merit seats. The selection of candidates for polytechnic colleges will be done statewise, and the submission of applications is through www.polyadmission.org. The students have to report the institution that they had received, according to the published allotment. They have to be accompanying their parents and have along with them all the credentials as required for admission.

Management Seats

Around 50% of the seats allotted are management seats. The admission is from the prepared rank list, which gives special consideration to Plus Two Science, ITI, and vocational course passed students. Filled applications will be submitted to the college office; those who get the higher ranks will be called for an interview. Click here for more details.

Eligibility For Admission

Diploma in 3 year: 300 SEAT

  • The candidate should be a citizen of India.
  • Candidates seeking admission to polytechnic colleges shall be categorized as Keralite and non-Keralite.
  • The candidate should have passed the SSLC/THSLC or an equivalent examination, with eligibility for higher studies.

Diploma in 2 year: 30 SEAT

  • The candidate should be a citizen of India.
  • Candidates seeking admission to polytechnic colleges shall be categorized as Keralite and non-Keralite.
  • The candidate should have passed +2/equivalent examination/VHSE with mathematics, English, physics, and chemistry/other relevant mandatory additional courses. 
  •  For +2/VHSE candidates, a minimum score of 50% of total marks is required. For VHSE
    candidates, they must also pass Physics, Mathematics, additional Mathematics, and other
    relevant mandatory additional subjects. 
  • In the case of 2-year matric courses of NCVT/SCVT/KGCE candidates, they shall have a
    pass and a minimum of 50% of the total marks in the qualifying examination, and they will be
    considered for admission to any branch of engineering and technology.

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has announced Engineering Diploma programs for working professionals

This is aimed at assisting working professionals to complete/continue their education. It provides students an opportunity to access higher education while they try to make a living as working professionals.

With the Diploma Programme, professionals in the workforce may stay up-to-date on industry developments in skill sets. Due to an abundance of fresh, competitive skills, many professionals have become exhausted of becoming stagnant in their careers and anticipating layoffs.

Duration of the Course:

I. Same as lateral entry to the second year with a total course duration NOT less than TWO years, so as to fulfill the total contact hours as prescribed by the Department of Technical Education for completion of the duration of the course.

II. Timings for the conduct of classes normally shall be in the evening hours/any flexible convenient timings (including weekends/holidays) in alignment with timings of the industry/organization.

III. Mode of Conduct of Classes shall be as applicable for Regular Programs as defined in the AICTE Public Notice Vide. No. AICTE/AB/Academic/2020-21, dated 13th August, 2020.

Eligibility for Admission:

 I. Professionals working in registered industry/organization (central/state)/private/public limited company/MSMEs located within 50 km radial distance from the institute.

 II. Minimum of ONE Year full-time/regular working experience.

III. Qualification Same as candidates eligible for Lateral Entry to Second Year (As Specified in Approval Process Handbook published by AICTE from time to time) (Appendix-l in Approval Process Handbook 2023-24) 03. Applicants who successfully completed the two-year ITI program / KGCE
